Ten things I’ve learned from 2010

  1. I am happier being single than in a relationship with someone I don’t love.
  2. I can excel when I am in a supportive environment, working with people I respect and like, and working for a cause I believe in.
  3. 30 ain’t so bad.
  4. My relationship with my folks will always be up and down, but it’s worth working on.
  5. People will always continue to disappoint me. Luckily, they will also continue to impress me and give me renewed faith in humanity.
  6. Yay for doing improv again!!!
  7. Road trips are revelatory. You really learn about someone’s true nature when you are stuck in a car together for 10 hours. When it goes well, it means a much stronger bond. When it goes poorly, it can end a friendship.
  8. I don’t have everything figured out. I might never have everything figured out.
  9. For the first time in my life, I am happy with things being the way they are for the reasonably forseeable future.
  10. It’s ok to know what you want and to hold out for what you want. It’s better to take a little extra time to do things right in the first place than rush to get them done and have to fix it later.

Happy New Year everybody!
